In this first of 2 sets of Travel notes, I am providing my thoughts regarding my favorite part of the world in the summer months. This first set of travel notes will be solely about the village of Villefranche sur Mer, which is just East of Nice. 

Have you ever tasted the sweet essence of air? 

Have you ever felt a refreshing lightness on your tongue that was so delightful, but seemingly without mass or structure?

Have you ever wanted something sweet after a heavy meal, but the dessert choices were too heavy in structure, fat, and/or calories to be comfortable for you at that point?

The Martins are good friends of the Wilsons. Each of these families are quite conservative from the Midwest and consist of the parents and a daughter with the latter having achieved physical maturity. These two young ladies, Carol and Melissa, have been inseparable since their age of 7 when the Wilsons move next to the Martins.

Rhubarb is THE ONE taste in various forms that I crave all year. The FAKE news for many is that it is a fruit given that it provides distinctive, galactic-extraordinary flavors for desserts. However, Rhubarb grows from the ground and looks like celery, but colored ruby-red at its finest. Hence, it is a vegetable. Unfortunately, Rhubarb is not grown in the South, and in the North it’s availability is primarily limited to April / May.

Clearly, mathematics is a science. However, that is only for those who have the tools, time, and Actual Requirement to reach a definitive answer, e.g., landing a rover on the moon.

I drink a great amount of wine. And what I drink is normally quite good for my palette,but normally not expensive. Some may consider me to be a wine snob, but I don’t think so.

I was born and raised in Pittsburgh and Dad was a steelworker. With 2 older brothers having already been through college, the money was tight for me to attend. While I got accepted at Carnegie Tech, now Carnegie Mellon, there was no way to make it through in 4 years financially.

It was an early spring. The winter had been extraordinarily warm with few snow showers, and no blizzards.

When writing this piece several months prior to the November 2020 elections, a Republican U.S. Senator was interviewed by CNN as to why he is not only against Trump, but also openingly stating that he will vote for Biden. When questioned further, he stated that the outrageous acts of Trump and his administration were actually working against the conservative principles of the GOP.
